I figured that I'd ask a few questions in this here group instead regarding the party. Best to get opinions from as many PSLers as possible on the party.

-I've heard that the PSL is very bureaucratic. (ex - I was told to go to this committee which sent me to another committee which sent me to another committee which sent me to the first committee and so on) Is there any truth to these allegations?

-Does the PSL practice democratic centralism and ideological discipline? To give an obscure example, if a Dengist was found in the party, would they likely be removed from it?

-Is there a variety of opinions within the party on the Soviet Union after Stalin, or is the position that the USSR was always socialist predominant?

-Have you met anyone who could be described as a:
    *Maoist
    *Trotskyist
    *Hoxhaist
    In the PSL?

first question, we have a division of labor, and we have committees but its not like some red-tape nightmare. i have never experienced that issue not have i heard of that issue before this.

second, yes democratic centralism is at the core of our operating procedures. and we constantly strive for ideological growth. usually if someone deviates too much from the party line they will be a discussion with that person and the goal is to rectify the issue, but if someone obviously doesnt fit with the party program then it would probably be best for them not to be in the party.

third, generally we see post-stalin ussr as this, peaceful coexistence was a double-edged sword, K-chov made some mis-steps and also during stalins leadership there were also some mis-steps. generally the party membershil agree that up until gorbachovs major reforms, the soviet union was fundamentally socialist, to what degree is arguable but we also generally see it as being at the beginning stages of socialist construction.

as for meeting party members with various ideological tags, most people refer to the party as marxist-leninist and themselves in the same manner, though people have persuasions to the ideological and programmatic contributions made by various leaders. but, party members cant be a 'trotskyist' or a 'maoist' or a 'hoxhaist' and still remain in the party as it basically runs in line with question 2.
