...I may seem like an unlikely member to be joining this group. But I've been converted/driven here by the rampantly growing liberalism that I find myself more and more disgusted by lately, on this forum and in real life. So um...hi.

You will fit right along either way, we all learn and go through your process, so there is nothing to worry about forever.

Likewise. Don't expect to find me defending the USSR in the 1930s any time soon but I consider myself an opponent of liberalism - I object to the willingness of people on this site to accept the terms of bourgeois political discourse, such as rejecting national liberation movements and imperialist states as equally oppressive, and criticizing governments on the basis that they are "dictatorships", thereby implying that a democratic capitalist regime is somehow less oppressive or exploitative than a regime where a single leader appears to have significant power.

Thats cool; welcome to both of you.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like liberal attitudes are quite common among Trotskyists (Not you Bob). Like, a lot of them just hate Stalin because he was a 'dictator who killed millions of people', completely buying into the bourgeois line. Of course there are proper reasons to be anti-Stalin, but I dunno I just get the impression that some selfidentified Trotskyists are just Trotsyists because they follow the Animal Farm narrative, and don't really understand history.

Good to have you in the group though

Yeah, it's unfortunate how the factual correctness of a position can become secondary to its ideological function -- even if I did think the Stalin era was the absolute and total ruin of the USSR, I'd probably feel ill over how perfect "anti-Stalinism" is for liberals (much as "Stalinism" is perfect for Russian nationalists)

Anyway, glad to see both of you join!

at first i thought liberals were not as bad as conservatives, but i still didnt like them... then i played one of dimentio's forum games. the current one with Mordslavea and all of that.

anyways. so i was in the SP and the liberals were trying to take government from the socialists and make it liberal. it pissed me off

then a fucker joines the SP and decided to "do away with the communists" and make the party democratic-socialist. he fucking supported the liberals in their market reforms and was completely against workers' power. i got into a pretty big rage. anyways. i now loathe liberals with a passion.

i guess it took a bit of role playing to realize liberals are always fuckers.
