    I'm not sure what the exact lineage is though. Wasn't Hekmat an Iranian?

    They are a small confederation of various communist groups formed in 1993, operating in kurdistan and abroad, first for the overthrow of the baath party, and now for the liberation of the iraqi workers from al qeada, local nationalisms, and US corporate domination. Hekmat was an Iranian who formed a communist militia during the overthrow of the Shah, and refused to bow to Islamic rule after khomeini betrayed the revolution. He died in london and is now buried a few meters from Karl Marx.
