So yeah... in November of '09... I discovered the reason why you should not send your mother to pick up a netbook for you... because what she picked up had the dreaded GMA500 chipset... nothing runs all too well and it has been collecting dust... so... should I wait for awhile and see if driver support (which is the biggest problem with the chipset) improves or should I just throw XP on it and pawn it on craigslist for $100
Well it depends and advising on this is difficult. Do you need the netbook at the moment or do you have another computer to fall back on. If you sell it and it gets driver support you're not losing money. But if you keep it, it will keep on depreciating. Is driver support really that big a deal though?
I know it's based on Linux, but does Google ChromeOS work? Try DL'ing a build from Hexxeh (google search should find it), burning it to a USB stick and see if it boots and works.
