I'm an Existentialist and a Marxist, as many of you may know. I'm not sure if I can say that I am anti-Dialectical Materialism or not since I've been struggling to understand Dialectical Materialism in its complete essence. I do, however, understand Historical Materialism completely and see no contradiction in adhering to a Historical Materialist concept of history and adhering to an existentialist view of the individual in nature. I just wanted to get other people's ideas on this and to say that I am struggling with comprehending the idea of Dialectical Materialism.
You aren't alone; I have been studying this 'theory' since the late 1970s and have yet to make head-or-tail of it. And we're not alone, either; no one understands this theory -- or if they do, they've kept that secret well hidden for 150 years. I have written very brief introductions to this theory, here: http://anti-dialectics.co.uk/Anti-D_...mmies%2001.htm http://anti-dialectics.co.uk/disclaimer.htm I think I'll re-format them and post them here in the next month or so.
Much thanks, comrade ^
