Does anyone know where I can buy it online? Ive lost my old one and cant find another one around here.
The PLP website has a format that can be converted to PDF online. And if that doesn't work, PM me and we can figure out a way for me to send you the files. As for a hard copy though, I can't help ya, being that I printed it off on campus (what a dedicated "Stalinist" I am )
Are you in Britain? RCPB have a lot of good Marxist-Leninist titles in their bookshop, including a lot of stuff which can be hard to get hold of. If you email them they might be able to send you a copy. But if you're not bothered about having a hard copy then the PLP version hugs mentioned is perfectly fine.
Apparently from what I've heard it's not a great book regarding another view of Stalin.
Apparently from what I've heard it's not a great book regarding another view of Stalin. I skimmed over a review of it by a hoxhaist who criticized Martens for holding a revisionist line in his criticisms of Stalin, but this is all on the last chapter of the book which i haven't even read, so the consensus seems to be that it does well to defend the real history of the Stalin era at least through that chapter. I for one quite enjoyed this book, though I'd have to be bothered to read the final chapter before I make any further statements about the author's conclusions.
bailey posted recently in the Maoist group that you can buy it here, so thanks/complaints to his address : http://www.stalinsociety.org.uk/publications.html
You can also use WinHTTrack Website Copier software http://www.httrack.com/ to copy down the website on to your hard drive. That's what I did. Also did it with Marx2Mao and a few other ML websites.
I got my copy from the WPB in Brussels, delivered by a friend at the ICS.
