what are your opinions on islamic socialist ideologies? are muhammed's "teachings" (set the fact that his teachings are bullshit aside) compatible with socialism? what should our position be on arab socialist countries in the middle east?

Well, this is an anti-theist group so I suppose we don't support islamic socialism just as we don't support the small-scale christian communism practiced by certain groups.

In this little groups, while a form of "communalism" (elders usually rule) is practice, there's no equality for women, children are property, and people are throughly brainwashed in religious crap, etc.

Although, some of us might support to some extant some of the Arabic socialist governments, which have been quite secular (Nasar?, the Ba'th party?) yet, being an anarchist, I don't.

in many circumstances a party can achieve a socialist economy but remains reactionary as fuck, for instance most "socialist" parties that uphold the Qu'ran believe in Hjab and so on. this results in an inherently reactionary system which given the party format is also hierarchical. so no I do not and never will support a religious socialist party. by upholding the archaic teachings of a band of frontal lobe epileptics during the roman empires reign they loose any of the progressiveness they had.

Those economies are in no way socialist.

Socialism is defined by control of industry by a proletarian state. These states share more features with Fascism, both economically and socially.

Good point i would also like to fling on the "dont eat pork" stuff kind of infringes on the "i do what the fuck i like with my body thing"

I am not that bothered if i meet a Muslim anarchist as long as he is not a very good Muslim. If he dose not practice his relgion then it is not so much a problem as a full blown religious nutter.

No. I haven't read much of the Qur'an, but these socialist parties support archaic customs that should be done away with such as the example of the Hijab cited by blackflagrevolutionary.

Christian communism, and Muslim communism and any other communism based on ancient religious texts supports idealism and therefore already bears failure within it.

I've read all three abrahamic "holy books" (and many associated writings) and many texts from many other bodies of superstition.

None are compatible with socialism as I know it (or want to know it).

Yet there are "socialists" who think shar'ia courts are a good idea in the twenty-first century!
