Any comrades know anything about this Bob Avakian guy? These RCPUSA are anti-revisionists aren't they? Can anyone fill me in please?

They are maoist and cultlike. They worship some leader who is hiding out in france. They are an ultra-leftist clique.

Tupac, enough unmerited bashing of Maoists, please.
I don't know much about them myself, but I prefer the CPGBML, which focuses very little on the leader himself, and more on international solidarity & Anti-Revisionism (although I disagree with them on some issues, they get my support on the fundamentals of understanding the damage done by revisionism, and the need for a vanguard).
They do not "worship" Avakian. They place undue importance on him at times, but recognize that the masses must be revolutionary themselves for revolution to succeed. Such a simplistic attack is not fitting for Anti-Revisionist Marxist-Leninists.

Out of interest, on what points do you disagree with the CPGB ML?

Hmm, well I'm not so certain after having thought about it. They do come across at first as a bit too optimistic about the Socialist potential of modern China, then again perhaps the presence of a Chinese delegate says something. There are revolutionaries in China, though like in the United States, to a lesser extent than actual Socialist countries. I do support the "Hands Off China" campaign, but we have to be careful about what potential we see in modern China.

Some may also see them as a bit too friendly with the DPRK, though I gave this some thought, and certainly see potential for the DPRK's workers even if Kim Jong Il is a shady character.

Otherwise, there may be minor issues at some point where I will disagree with them in the future, but likely none too relevant to their actual political positions.

Yeah, I was hoping for more actual analysis in the Hands off China campaign. They don't actually emphasize the revisionist position of the Chinese leadership. I mean are we looking at full blown perestroika or what? I would like to learn more about what's actually happening in China.

First off, if you want to understand the situation in China in a very in-depth perspective, I recommend picking up a copy of Socialism and Liberation's (www.SocialismandLiberation.org) China: Revolution and Counterrevolution. It describes the ongoing demonization of China through the Free Tibet and Free Taiwan movements, the consistent attacks on Chinese sovereignty, the failure of market reforms in China and the success of Chairman Mao's socialist ideology. Just visit www.PSLWeb.org and look on the right side of the page. You can't miss it. Also, a little hint: if you click the picture of the book, it should show you a list of the articles available in the book. If you'd prefer book form like I do, order it, but if not, just use Google to find those articles and you can read it for free online.
