Exactly what it says on the tin - what kind of discussions do you envisage on this group and what kind of stickies/resources would be useful?

Maybe a sticky with links to the major autism resources online, and an essay about the current political controversy of neurodiversity vs. cure?

Edit: also, maybe book reviews and/or recommendations? I'm presently reading The Speed of Dark, a novel about autism which is pretty good.

You wouldn't happen to have any such links with which to start us off? Would you?

I've not really read all that many books on the subject but if others have you can feel free to start the thread and I'll sticky it.

Probably the largest online community for mid-high functioning autistics, as well as interested friends and family members. Lots of good resources and media reviews.

um. . . just click on it. It will explain.

Not really a major resource, but it's an interesting and different perspective. . the girl who (just) started it used to post a lot on Wrongplanet, and she's a really sweet kid. Edit: I should mention that she has just decided she needs to be "positive" and "nice," and that I hope she grows out of it because she used to make the most wonderful, sharp, snarky posts that were a joy to read. I include the link mostly out of support, and because her first blog entry on the new site was insightful and I expect more of the same.

I know I've seen some good neuro-diversity advocacy blogs, will be sure to link them when I come across them again.
