This is a folk singer that holds a special place in my heart, mostly because of his music, but also because he accomplished more in his life, went more places, fought for what he believed in, more than most people in this world. And once he eventually was run out of the music industry, which he wanted to use to change peoples lives, he had nothing left to live for. This man lost his voice because of some robbers/assassins who came to his hotel room while he was in Bolivia, and strangled him, almost to death, forcing him to lose the only thing he had, his voice. He had a CIA file on him a few thousand pages. Awesome story and music
there's an absolutely beautiful tribute album out there of lots of modern folk artists covering his stuff. What's That I Hear, I believe it's called. I've got it laying around here somewhere *looks around vaguely*
