Industrial maoism

    I am a 100% trotsky guy but I am leaning towards maoism as an economic and industrial philosophy.This is because I have not yet heard any Trotskyist theories on the economy.Can somebody post some and or some reasons why industrial maoism doesn't work.

    P.S. I'm in know way a maoist.

    P.P.S. I'm with trotsky ->

    " I'm with Trotsky"

    This is not choosing football teams or "heroes" . this is about understanding the marxist method and marxism itself. Phrases like I'm with Trotsky or I'm with Mao aren't scientific and reveal a lack of understanding towards the ideas.

    Anyways to the point. There is no Trotskyist theory on the economy. The economy is nationalized and the workplaces are democratically controlled by the workers. Other than that the production is done for need and not for profit. In cases where the country is underdevelopped a democratic rational plan is put forward, that allows for the rapid industrialization of the given country.

    Ie. Trotsky first proposed the 5 year plans and the Stalin-Zinoviev-Kamenev trio rejected them. Of course those 5 year plans were not the "Do a 5 year plan in 3 years !" type. They were rational plans which would be carried on without resulting to severe penalties against those who "were sabotaging the economy, by not working 24/7".

    On the question of agriculture, as it is a part of the economy, the trotskyist proposal is voluntary collectivisation, as opposed to the forceful one carried out by the Stalinites.

    In general this is the general economic plan, which is adapted to the specific requirements of each country. We cannot plan years ahead what we are going to do with the economy. The economy is not an abstract thing, it is something very concrete and it depends on the level of productive forces, the labor power etc. What if a big portion of the productive capacity is destroyed during the revolution ? What if millions die in the revolutionary war? etc etc. All these questions cannot be answered in advance. We have to examine the real situation and then proceed, without of course abandoning our principles.

    First take a joke,''I'm with Trotsky'' is just a joke to lighten up a serious question.Second mao and stalin are not the same person and I don't agree with maoism at all.But you can't deny the fact that Mao's strategy to change an agrarian economy to an industrial improved the economy even if china is a state capitalist entity.

    Second mao and stalin are not the same person
    Maoism and Stalinism are the same thing.
    Maoism and "Trotskyism" are incompatible ideologies.
    The difference is not only historical , but practical and theoretical.
    The Maoists still adhere to the Stalinist Stage Theory. You might think this is insignificant , but it is not. For example the Maoists in Nepal that are in power now, do not want to nationalize the means of production under workers control and start building socialism. They say that because Nepal is a backwards country they need the alliance of the progressive bourgeoisie in order to build capitalism first and then socialism will be relevant for Nepal. This is the Stage Theory.
    We on the other hand say that there is no progressive bourgeoisie on backwards countries as it is tied with foreign capital. The building of capitalism and socialism should happen simultaneously and under the control of the workers. We are against alliances with the so-called progressive bourgeoisie which is essentially reactionary.
    The Stalinists/Maoists have done that many times throughout history, every time resulting in the betrayal of the working class, defeat and massacre. It has happened in Indonesia where Stalinists allied themselves with the "progressive bourgeoisie" resulting to the death of millions of militant workers by the so called progressives, it has happened in Greece where the revolution was defeated due to that policy and hundreds of thousands of communists where either exiled or excecuted, as a result of that treason.

    This is one main theoretical difference which renders the Maoists reformists and treacherous to the working class and makes the two ideologies incompatible with eachother. Of course there are many other very important differences but due to the lack of time I presented you with one of the main ones.
