Yes I'm talking about punkmusic for mailmen. Or ofcourse that music subgenre that evolved from punk noted for it's experimentalism. Who digs it or who doesnt, and if you dig it who do you dig, dig?
The Psychedelic Furs! That's probably the totality of my post-punk experience...don't know of any others.
How about PiL, Magazine or Wire?
Adam and the Ants is about as far into post-punk I ever ventured.
Joy Division
What is considered post-punk anyway? Fugazi, At the Drive-In and New Order?
Well whatever came out after punk what had a punk influence but didnt commercialise it like new wave did but tried to use punk as catalyst for a more experimental type of music. Like Gang Of Four, PiL, Bauhaus, Wire, Throbbing Gristle, etc.
New Model Army, the early albums. They have some folk influences too
PiL, Sisters of mercy and New Model Army are pretty awesome. Other than that I don't really like Post punk to much.
I love Joy Division, Wire, Pixies, Fugazi, Minutemen, Sonic Youth, Chumbawumba, the Birthday Party.
Dead Can Dance started out as post-punk in Australia, their early albums were pretty good, and I have taken a liking to their later music as well, Lisa Gerrard's solo stuff in particular.
Gang of Four, New Model Army, Violent Femmes, XTC, the Church, the Cult, Joy Division, Talking Heads, Curve, Cabaret Voltaire, Chrome, Loop, Spacemen 3, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, The Chameleons, Breathless, Cocteau Twins, Orange Juice, Smiths, Talulah Gosh, Ride, and the Jesus and Mary Chain are my favorites.
Joy division
Post-punk is my favourite genre of rock music and there are lot of bands that I like: Joy Division, Bauhaus, The Sound, Wire, The Fall...
