I know the Government says black panthers have been dissolved as a group, but do they still operate underground?
Well if you are talking about the Original Black Panthers, no. Albert Woodfox and Robert King do speeches on their work as Black Panthers while in solitary confinement. Recently the orginals that are still alive had their 50th anniversary in Oakland so there are enough free Panthers around still to have these kind of celebrations. Now there is the group, The New Black Panthers and they are not the same group as the originals. You should find a lot of answers to your questions here.
