If this is in reference to me, that is not the case at all and I totally agree with you. I just prefer to call myself "Bolshevik" or "communist" instead of even Marxist, Leninist, Trotskyist, etc. not because I value them less (these are my heroes) but just to avoid cult of personality.

I more or less agree with you on this. I (try to) use the method of Marxism. I belong to a leninist organization. and I think that trotsky had the best perspectives after lenin died.
But to say im a trotskyist doesnt mean anything anymore. Every jerk who was against stalin called himself a 'trotskyist'. As for 'leninist', who doesnt think there a 'leninist'?
I would not object to someone labeling me at a tortskyist or leninist. or even a cannonite, grantite, woodsist, tafttist, or walshist.
Althought, i do call myself a marxist. but people do tend to make a cultish deal out of these great communist.

Socialist Action-US/Fourth International. What you call yourself isn't as critical as the programmatic and political line you take. I prefer the term Bolshevism or revolutionary socialist to Trotskyist or Leninist; not because of any desire to demote them, but because we don't want barriers between us and working folks. The language we use on the left is specialized and I think becomes an obstacle to talking to workers.
In certian situations, I refer to myself as communist, Trotskyist or Leninist.

Moved from the CWI to IMT. I think the CWI neglects education from my experience with both groups. But there's good people in both groups and I work with both happily.

I thought the IMT didn't have a group in Ireland? Their getting close to the IRSP until recently was a sign of Alan Woods' desperation on his part.

Well I'm studying in England at the moment. There is the group Fightback, which represents the IMT in Ireland, it's in the process of readying a magazine/paper and there's a website already up.

Haha, why is every IMT outlook reduced to Alan Woods? I think those outside IMT have much more of an obsession with him than any of us IMT cult followers :P

The IMT has reached out to the IRSM and I think their genuine socialist elements are serious people and worth collaborating with. I think CWI instrangience towards the IRSM isn't a very constructive outlook. As I said, I don't necessarily see myself as either IMT/CWI and will happily collaborate with both groups.

I was in the Spark, which is the American affiliate of Lutte Ouvrier. A few years later, I was in the Fourth Internationalist tendency of Solidarity.

I'm not a Trotskyist anymore, but I still find his theories on the USSR and fascism far superior to any others.
  9. Barry Lyndon
I was a Cliffite, then I was a more Orthodox Trotskyist, now I am not really a Trotskyist but strongly agree with his analysis of Stalinism and fascism, like the the comrade above. I also think he was one of the great revolutionaries of the 20th century and an exceptionally principled human being.

I would be CWI.It was first because in Ireland I agreed more with The Socialist Party(CWI) than the Socialist Workers Party or People Before Profit on national issues but as I've learnt more about the Internationals I have found that ideologically I would certainly be closest to the CWI

I'm in no Trotskyist-only organization. Seeing from the outside how derailed the major big ones are and how bureaucratic they've become, I think I will never want to join one either. I'll stay in the pan-leftistic ones, where we actually unite.

Here in Norway there isn't much else either way; IS here joined Red Alliance a long time ago, and I'm quite glad for that.

I currently belong to no organization, although I'd like to change that. I'm currently looking at either Socialist Alternative (the United States' branch of the CWI) and Socialist Action. I'm also sympathetic toward the Freedom Socialist Party, although (to the best of my knowledge) they're not very active outside of the Pacific coast.

Just out of curiosity, why would a Trotskyist have a picture of Stalin as an avatar?
