The 12th Doctor has been announced and it's 55 year old TV veteran Peter Capaldi. Sorry AYM. Thoughts?
I'm actually relieved. I'm tired of all these young Doctors. I didn't dislike Matt Smith as the Doctor, but I do think he just served more as a pretty boy for the BBC to put on posters and shit, not the clever, wise Doctor here to save the human race.
Damien Molony was in the top ten for the new Doctor and I was hoping for him personally. I knew he didn't really have much of a chance though since he only has one TV credit (Being Human, which he acted the shit out of imo). Moffat hasn't disappointed with casting yet and Capaldi is a capable actor, so I'm fairly hopeful.
I was fairly bummed that it wasn't a female Doctor. But even more disappointed that they didn't consider anyone but Capaldi - they need to at least give women and POC an equal opportunity at that role at this point.
