Mine is Charles Bronson, for my favorite power-violence band. I got really into them when I was in high school. Also of course Minor Threat, Husker-Du, Minutemen, Black Flag, and Bad Brains for the classic hardcore all of which I still listen too. I like some of the stuff from Hydrahead, bridge nine, coalition records, level plane records too. Many more to name from my straight edge days. Also I forgot to add post-hardcore which probably deserves its own thread. I thought I would start another sub-genre thread just because. And because power-violence is such a strange or awesome sub-genre.
Well, I'll join in this thread. I don't exactly have a favorite band, but I've been listening to Dead Kennedys a lot lately.
A lot of newer groups are catching my attention, like Full Of Hell, Code Orange Kids, Nails, Column Of Heaven, etc.
Destroy and Assuck are explicitly leftist grindcore bands, they're also actually really good.
Doom, too.
