Many of course know the intentions of the Pirate party to follow it's ideas on information freedom, civil rights and even direct-democracy. At least that's what I have read. But I have noticed some calling the Pirate Party as a social-liberalism movement or a socialist movement, as they try to describe them according to their ideas. Surely there is a political position of the Pirates on how to solve other problems, since there are few countries, like Germany that has Pirate party representatives in some of the regional governments. Maybe someone has an idea/s on what proposed solutions does the Pirates have for economic issues or the system it self, is it socialism, third way or anything else? Capitalism is obviously something that can't avoid copyright laws and monitoring of the product consumption. That's why I see they could be likely anti-capitalist.

The PP's are a politically very diverse landscape. They are at best utopian socialists, liberals at worst. The system question indeed strikes at the core of the matter: What do the think of broader social questions? Mostly they'll cut far short from any actual revolutionary conclusions.

I still stand very sympathetic to them though and recently actually joined the PP in the Netherlands (which is not really that big). Their ideas on free information, copyright, democracy, etc should really be assimilated by the communist left. And the communist left should seek to win the Pirates to the cause of universal human liberation.
