There's an interesting thread on Nietzsche in the Philosophy forum.

Granted that the OP is trolling the whole thing, there are some good discussions going on. Most notably people's interpretations of his critique of idealism and, of course, his critique of socialism.

I suggest folks here check it out, or discuss it here if you wish.

Seems like a lot of people are quite eager to discuss his work in an uncritical light, that they are uncomfortable with the implications of his ideas. Nietzsche has always been uncontroversial, and the best way to deal with him in Marxist circles is to attempt the infamous "bourgeois" label, but I think Nietzsches assertion that Marxism itself is merely a continuation of prior bourgeois thought has truth.

I actually think his critique of socialism has a lot of truth to it. I see a lot of value in his critique of socialism since it sheds light on areas we'd rather not examine; you can see this in the fact that some people are trying to invalidate his criticism by slurring it as "idealist"

OP is a huge fucking troll. He says he's from Iran, yet speaks perfect english. He also has an extremely childish attitude and spares no opportunity to flame. In addition, he stated that he voted that Nietzsche was a loser, but when I looked in the thread less than a minute after it was created, there was 1 vote and it was for winner; so yeah, huge troll. I love discussing Nietzsche and his works, but didn't see the point continuing in the thread because of the kind of attitude some people were displaying.

I think there are plenty of Marxists who are Nietzscheans (I am one) but that we are a minority due to the slander against his philosophy as either Nazi, bourgeois, or nihilist.

I treat his critique of socialism as distinct from Marxism.

Indeed, well that's why we have this group.
