http://www.haymarketbooks.org/pb/Cub...lution-of-1959 This book seems to be getting some buzz on sites like Havana Times. Too bad there isn't a Monthly Review review of it yet
From reading the summary, this looks really interesting.
New book, same old Farber. It's basically a mix of his earlier book on the revolution, some highly dubious overview of the subsequent period, and an awfully confused and backwards assessment of contemporary Cuba - in particular the economic updates and Lineamientos. Farber is a Cubanologist par excellence, and, seeing as he basically presents no new arguments in this book, it's worth reading something about his previous stuff. As usual, there's a very good assessment by Helen Yaffe which can be read here of his last screed.
