To all: I have met very good people in the SP. Good people dedicated to radical change. I think many of these revolutionaries are in a struggle with progressives and otherwise undemocratic elements in the party for the control or direction of the party. I used to think that was important - the direction of the party and the use of it as a platform for the agitation and education of the working class. The party is less used as this kind of platform and seems more focused on fielding opportunist politicians to represent socialists. A quick look around the world shows me examples of socialist political parties entrenched in the system. This is the only direction the party can head - assuming it ever can successfully run politicians - and it is during a time when our class utterly loathes politicians. The working class is on the move and the party is not going anywhere with it. I have nothing but respect for all of you. Marcus
No socialist Party elected to power will ever change the system, but become absorbed and co-opted by it, though I am obviously preaching to the choir here. I wish you well. All orgs have problems, and believe it or not, the SP is the best and healthiest I have seen, and I say that aware of its problems. I will stay in the Party and continue to fight for socialism, which in all reality, are what the campaigns are for, to "advertise" the possibility of overthrowing capitalism. Best to you.

Keep in touch, Comrade. We all know this Party is shit, but it allows us to meet comrades such as yourself. When the revolution comes, as the Occupation movement shows, it's not gonna come out of the parties, but catch them all by fucking surprise, and many, and I expect this one, will oppose the violent masses taking on the system. But those of us committed to revolutionary change will be in the ranks storming heaven. See you there, Brother!
As chegitz said, stay in touch. I'm disillusioned with the Party as well, but have met awesome comrades from across the US, which is why I continue to stay with the Party.
I stick around in hopes that our charter will be approved for our local, yet I wonder if I pissed enough people off that they're not going to approve us.
Charter approval should be automatic, regardless of what the higher-ups think of you.
