Comrades of Michigan, I would look to discuss the current risk of the worker in Michigan due to "governor" Rick Snyder as he shows no progress to help the proletariats in Michigan. As he only helps those who are in the upper class.
This is expected of a Republican, of course. His approval ratings are the lowest for any governor in the country. His emergency financial managers are met with wide protest and public criticism in the cities and counties they are sent to. Even the conservative Grand Rapids Press criticizes him and the articles they show from newspapers around the state seem to show no different opinions on the man. When I went to Occupy Lansing's first GA back in the fall, we met on the capitol steps and several people who spoke leveled criticism after criticism of Snyder and the Republican state legislature. One guy stood up there for probably 20 minutes explaining the relationship that corporate CEO's have with the Michigan Republican Party's state legislators. And of course Mayor Bernero spoke, basically saying that he should have won instead. And a radio DJ from Detroit was there to level more criticism. Even my conservative dad who has voted Republican for all except one election said that Snyder is doing a bad job and asks in frustration "Why is he doing that?" Of course a recall would only replace him with a Democrat. And said Democrat would be useless without support from a Democratic legislature. And sure, maybe they would help out the unions a little bit, but in the end they are still a bourgeois party. As far as state elections go, the Michigan SPUSA and the occasional Green Party candidates they back are the only ones worth voting for as socialists. They won't be winning the governorship anytime soon, but at least they can win some local elections. A Green/Socialist backed candidate won some local city government position in Detroit in the last election. Funny side note: his son went to my college and was a known pothead and everyone agrees he was a spoiled brat.
