Looks like the "remake" has been confirmed; it will be directed by Frederico Alvarez, who made the short, Panic Attack (I never heard of him). What are people's thoughts on this? Will it match up to the original in any kind of way?
yeah, It wont be anywhere near the same if Bruce Cambell or someone equally goofy is in it.
I hope he doesnt go all CGI like he did in Panic Attack. Keep it gritty.
The first one was good because it represented the triumph of the independent filmmaker, IMO. Look at that movie, and then consider the fact that Sam Raimi went on to helm the Spiderman films. Damn. The effects were cheap and crappy but creative and amusing. I've never heard of this director, but that's probably a good thing. If he keeps the budget limited and uses practical effects then I might give it a shot. No one wants to see some kind of shitty CGI-filled Evil Dead starring Megan Fox or something.
No Bruce Campbell makes me a sad man.
Evil Dead II is not a remake, in the first few minutes they sum up the first movie but after that it's a different movie.
Fuck CGI. They need the tree rape scene( I mean to be honest it IS one thing that made that movie) Someone that looks half ass like Bruce and can pull off the goofiness of him. Other than that I think they could do it. It wouldn't be as good anyways though...but we'll see.
I doubt it'll be any good. Especially with a movie like Evil Dead.
Whether or not. I'll still go see it or at least watch it when it comes out.
