    I'll tell you the same thing I told another comrade. The best book I've read on the Derg is Transformation & Continuity in Revolutionary Ethiopia. It covers the revolution in 1974 and the protracted process of socialist reconstruction.

    The ones I know most about are FRELIMO and the PAIGC - if anyone's interested much in them I can probably contribute something, but I'm pretty busy at the moment so it'll take me a while...

    I have at the moment key assessments at my College but nevertheless I will try and get some research into both the Derg and Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Party which opposed them as soon as possible.

    * FRELIMO during the time of Samora Machel before State-Capitalist aspirations were openly advocated by the FRELIMO and RENAMO was allowed to engage in counter-revolutionary activities without being combated.
