Are the CPUSA, Marxist-Leninist?

Simple question are the CPUSA Marxist-Leninist?
2. Who?
Who?
Tough question, yes and no.

They appear to be pursuing a distinctly opportunist social democratic line right now, throwing support to the Democratic Party and all. However there are legitimate Marxist-Leninist factions within the party, I personally don't think we can write them off just yet. The party still has some revolutionary potential, however small it may be.
3. Nolan
No, there may be good people in there seeking to reclaim the party, but the leadership is completely social democrat. Weren't they talking about changing the name a while back?
4. Who?
Who?
There was some discussion about changing the name, yes.

I still feel that we, as Marxist-Leninists, can't write off the party in it's entirety. We should support our comrades within the party, in hope that they may be able to reclaim it.

The answer is no. Hell they are not even Marxist, let alone Marxist-Leninist. First off the group does not believe in change thought revolution. Second the group does not support any of the ideals of Lenin, let alone Stalin. Third they do not believe in nationalization, only welfare.

Yes they are

Yes, the FRSO-FB are genuine Marxist-Leninists. We're also quite close to those of the PSL and the WWP.

I would say that the CPUSA is not really Marxist-Leninist. On their website, they advocate not revolution, but getting elected through the ballot to reform capitalism until they can bring about socialism. They also aren't interested in abolishing the government, they instead want to just reform it and literally add amendments to the constitution to "guarantee" more "rights." They are also kind of nationalist. They talk about being rooted in American political history and what not. That's probably why they show support to the Democratic party. They're not revolutionary. They advocate more unions than actual revolution. America has better revolutionary Marxist parties.

They are Revisionist, but don't forget unions are part of revolution as Lenin put it.

"Being a school of communism in general, the trade unions must, in particular, be a school for training the whole mass of workers, and eventually all working people, in the art of managing socialist industry (and gradually also agriculture)."

Being against school of communism, is also being against communist revolution . Let's keep this in mind.

Great point. I support unions so long as they are communist in ideology. None of this "working within capitalism to change it" nonsense like the AFL-CIO advocates.

Are you sure they are union or just groups using union as a neme. Union always work against capitalism, if they don't then they are not a union. Some are power less I will give you that, but no real union work for the capitalist against the workers.

I just mean that, at least in America, some unions are extremely supportive of the Democratic Party and capitalism in itself, not socialism.

Credit unions are not union, there banks with different stock options and a union name. They may support the democratic party, just like larger banks support the republican party, but this does not mean that Unions support the Democratic party. Unions are almost powerless here in the states, and democratic and republican parties have little to gain, by supporting them. This is the main reason that the democratic party does not stand up for teacher unions and why the republican party goes out of it way to attack them.

Ah, I was not aware of this. Thanks for the information. I'll go do some more research on the subject.
