I am a non-doctrinaire communist currently in an opportunistic relationship with a Revolutionary Communist Party. I became interested in the ideas of Communism through Babeuf, Weitling and Marx initially; I have since rejected elements of all their conceptions and doctrines. I find the endless attempts to make the Universe fit into dialectical materialism inane and ridiculous, which has led me to shun any kind of Marxist discussion groups.
Greetings, RZ, and welcome to the NDC group. Personally, I might think your dilemma is more of a case of how doctrinaire sects and cults abuse the method of materialist dialectics for their own ends. But that's something that can be discussed later. In the meantime, enjoy being here on RevLeft and as a member of NDC.
Thanks. I might think your dilemma is more of a case of how doctrinaire sects and cults abuse the method of materialist dialectics for their own ends. I think the very idea is vague or problematic on its own grounds, but yes, their doctrinaire tendency mongering is ridiculous.
Thanks. I think the very idea is vague or problematic on its own grounds, I agree. Socialism is the fair and right social system, but society is a completely different and separate subject, from metaphysics or religion. You can be a socialist, even a communist, without being an Atheist or a Materialist. As I said at another forum, I'm a communist, but not an Atheist or a Materialist. Unumundisto but yes, their doctrinaire tendency mongering is ridiculous.[/quote]
