It really depends how you define Maoist. If you're a Maoist along the lines of some Maoist parties that say the Soviet Union was capitalist after Stalin or that Cuba is capitalist, you will probably have a tough time fitting in with our party line, as we defend existing workers states against counterrevolution and imperialist dismemberment.

However, we uphold Mao's role in the Chinese Revolution as instrumental in leading China's socialist revolution. Though we believe Mao was incorrect in characterizing the Soviet Union as so revisionist that it became social-imperialist, which is a bunk theory, and we believe he was in the wrong for aligning with US imperialism against the Soviet Union, we still uphold his legacy as very important for the communist movement.

You have to look at how you define Maoist. We are Marxist-Leninists and we do realize the massive impact and influence of Maoism, but also acknowledge its shortcomings.

    okay.

Well I think that is a good point Kassad but this is why I like the PSL is that we actually follow dialectal materialism. So to say that we realize all the head figures did both great/correct things and did some things incorrectly.

And about China working with the USA, every socialist should discredit that move as ignorant. But at the same time we should not be apologist and not criticize the USSR for its "peaceful co-existence" tactic as I see that as one of the biggest back slides to the socialist movement as a whole.

I'd suggest reading PSL's: China Revolution and Counterrevolution (I'd also argue it is the best book that they have published). It expands on what Kassad said.

Yes, I think the China book is one of the best books written about China by socialist in the USA
