Comrades... I'm thinking of working on establishing a social, resource and educational site for marxistleninism on the internet, we are sadly lacking, and we have more than sufficient numbers and the possibility of real life support (such as the KKE) if we do it correctly. As a first step to establishing such a site I was thinking that a working group could be established, perhaps through a google group? Anyone interested, please PM or reply and we can go about setting up the initial working group.

Proposal for discussion: Aim: To create an online community and resource portal for marxist leinists. How: 1.Establish working group/committee to oversee the following and lay the basis for future 'governance' of the site: * The sourcing of suitable webspace * The purchase of a domain name * The establishment a forum * A clear security policy and provision 2.At this stage the working group can proceed to: * Constituting the site and the rules for the forum * Laying out the 'programme of work' vis a vis what else the site can provide besides a discussion forum * Promotion of the site via the world communist movement * Look at long term funding arrangements – business register, bank account, pay pal etc – to be legally constituted within site constitution. Initial thoughts Name: marxistleninist.net Webspace: Linux based, secure, ethical – any known? Forum software: A requirement to use opensource based software solutions for ideological and security reasons. Proposal is PHPBB3. Future software: A simple CMS using wordpress. Consitution: An elected committee with an adherance marxism leninism and abiding by the doctrine of democratic centralism. Committee to have appropriately delegated 'departments' e.g. moderation, education, finance, secretary etc. Professional Image/theme: Modern, simple style using red and hammer and sickles.
what are the cost associated with a website like this?
That's why I was establishing a working group... ..to work out costs etc and sources of funding... ...I am willing to donate a small amount... ...I do not however think initial costs will be particularly high since bandwidth, at least initially will not be high, so we should look at options where scalability is fealsible. I am, however, seeking costs from two individuals who currently manage such websites and will report back...
We could start with a simple forum and work from there. With Articles and resources. I know we should have a number of friendly organizations across the world.
Hi, Okay looking at http://www.webarchitects.co.uk for hosting. They currently host MIA, the Irish Democrat and various uk community groups. Ultimately we will be looking a virtual sever, but I could suggest we just go for a set up phpbb3 and domain register to begin with, with the obvious option of possible wish to migrate in the near to medium term future and get the costs?
