U.S kids brainwashed

  1. marxistcritic
They brainwash us in my school that "communism is just the dictatorship of one man" and everyone believes it even when I show them proof that that is a lie.

In my 8th grade "history" class, my classmates thought communists flew planes into the WTC on 9/11 . It's refreshing to know other people my age are socialists and communists.

At my school they basicly think its a goverment that controls your life and that is evil. I scold at them when they say things in front of me.

So true, except now I live in a bourgeois neighbourhood so I just beat the crap out of those pussies.

Before... That wasn't a very nice neighbourhood

Hello I just joined and am still in highschool so I thought this would be a group I could participate in being young myself. As to the subject, our classes, specifically our economics and history classes are think tanks for the right-wing. In my World History textbook it says Marx wanted to establish a dictatorship of the proletariat, then in parenthesis says, " a dictatorship is the rule of a single person or small group of people."
The only time I think it said anything positive about socialism is when it said the Nazis had nothing to do with socialism.

I have too, it's easier when you live in a area where there are many poor people.

1 of them does, and he has gotten access lately to more than of marx's books. The rest are still rather ignorant, however, I like to go up to random kids and give them surveys on current politics and 7 of 10 out of them have communist views. I even started a communist party at school, but things degenerated into being unmanagable, and I had to cancel the party.

My classes are like that, too. However, they are only hostile to left-wingers of the 20th century. However, it never attacks marx himself. My teachers do say many anti-communist things.

Oh hell yeah I did. He basically said whatever, textbooks are sometimes wrong and just continued like nothing happened. What really bothered me was the question on the test though. You had to match the correct letter with a statement. The statement was something like," A single party totalitarian dictatorship," and of course the answer was "Communist State". It wasn't a proud moment for me but I had to ace the test you know.

You have no idea how conservative my teacher was. Also we were the bad school, we had all the old books. I wouldn't doubt if the World History textbook was from the Cold-War era.
What school do you go to? Kids in my high school think that Communists are Nazis.
I went to a school where everybody that got kicked out of regular school went. None of the people knew of the names "Marx", "Lenin", "Stalin", "Castro", etc. The only reason they would know anything about Nazis is because they are seen as the biggest bad guys ever. One idiot told me socialism would exploit the working class though. Hilarious debate between me and him.

Of course they would, many people think the farthest the left can get is taxing the rich, I've met many liberals who think this. I think we're just living in a era of reaction, capitalism just won the Cold War in this generation of adults.

We won the cold war, because we learned a lesson, and that was NEXT TIME LISTEN TO WHAT MARX SAID AND TRY AN INDUSTRIALIZED COUNTRY AND IGNORE PEOPLE LIKE STALIN!!!

I spent all my junior school years at a private school. Not really because my parents could afford it (and I'm not sure they could) but because they thought I'd get a better educated. Boy did that theory need some rethinking!
My classmates were a load of bourgeois snobs who didn't know squat about anything!(with a few intellectual exceptions) Now I've moved to a government school and I'm much better off. I even found a small group of Comrades! I mean, it just goes to show doesn't it!

I even started a communist party at school,
How did you manage that? My Comrades and I had a few ideas... ... pity we're all cowards. :-(

Well, the students at my school hate the teachers and the "security" guard, and communism promises vengeance. Secondly, they listened to what I had to say and found that it made more sense than what they currently followed, thirdly, I once studied wich colors and designs to use for propaganda, and found that red and gold cause excitment, and familiar objects cause comfortability, and used that in the posters I put all over the place[including 1st grade classrooms, but that was the fault of my incompetent minister of propaganda], and fourthly, I'm just charismatic. It failed because people started making splinter groups and the school banned us for violence and vandalism [meaning the "our sun is rising" posters and the splinter group fights].

I used to debate my eighth grade history teacher all the time. Mainly on economics but also on US foreign policy. He was a boarder line Nationalist and hardcore capitalist but he was actually a good guy, he didn't mark me off for giving my opinion on papers, if anything he gave me more points. He also recommended me and lended me a ton of his books from college. He knew the material he was teaching and it's obvious that your teacher didn't.. shame.

Good job on being active MarxistCritic!

Absurd. The Nazis hated communism, the Nazis oppressed workers. Fascism is a polar opposite of communism.

C'mon mates, I'm living in Indonesia (& naturalized since birth), and I also have a similar experiences as most of you, mates. Most of Indonesians are very phobia to Communism. Why? This' due to the New Order/Soeharto's iron-fisted military regime (1965-1998) which had brainwashed most of Indonesians that "Socialism/Communism is evil".

The New Order could also be said as "The Nazi regime of Indonesia". Communism/Marxism-Leninism & Communist Parties are still prohibited by the Congress' Decree.

Man, I'd just thought that Leftism are the main spirit of the Republic's principles, in which in Pancasila (5 Principles, which became the basic principle of Indonesia), 3 of their silas (Social justice for the whole of the people of Indonesia (Social Justice), Just and civilized humanity (Humanity), & Democracy guided by the inner wisdom in the unanimity arising out of deliberations amongst representatives (Democracy)) are indeed the principle of the True Leftism...

They probably think they're correct. Probably Christian rightists, people that think Stalin, Hitler, Mao were all evil murderers because of their lack of a religion. Our school system is doomed.
  24. DecDoom
You hit the nail on the head, comrade. The entire school district is run by christian rightists. As a public school, they have to provide the illusion of being unbiased, but one only needs to be here a week or so to see through that charade.

I did a project on the FACTS about Lenin and Stalin and the teacher gave me a low mark. Like WTF? I put information from the actual Soviet archives in and she says the text book has the "correct" information. I was so angry that if it was a male teacher I would have punched him in the face.

Just goes to show comrade, the students that question and research are looked at as unintelligent. While those who just copy it right from the text book are looked at as smart. All great minds have come to be by questioning the current practices, why is that discouraged? Fuck the state..

That's bloody ridiculous! One of my teachers used to pick on me coz I was the only non-christian in the class and she once gave me a zero mark on what i thought was a brilliant two page essay! It just goes to show that with discrimination is still alive and kicking. The way I reason it is that - as a rule - teachers are never fair to more then one party which is usually themselves.

At my school you can barely find any other religion but you can find Christains everywhere. They say "the bible proves everything, etc." I either laugh at them or scold them, mostly scolding, and they actually find it odd that someone at their school isnt a christain. They constantly say "are you an atheist?" and it gets really annoying to the you the truth. Then the teacher wouldnt want religion being talked about in her class.
