There should be a site somewhere that names all the parties, defines who they are in terms of politics and strategy, has contact info and estimated amount of supporters. I used to go to DSA's socialist scholar's conference to catch up on latest doings but wonder what other open events are there. You would think that with all the wars, the depression etc. all the groups would be growing and having mass rallies and events but I haven't seen anything yet. During the 1930's the CP had over 180,000 members or so I've heard. So why is there nothing this big today, especially with all this new media?

I'm from the USA and a PSL sympathizer. I'm not sure I'll ever join because although I think Marcy was a tremendous theorist, I find myself more supportive of Stalin's legacy than either he or most of the members I know.

Then you should meet more members then
  6. The Hong Se Sun
    The Hong Se Sun
USA, Party for Socialism and Liberation (full member) I also like the FRSO (fight back)
  7. The Vegan Marxist
    The Vegan Marxist
USA - Party for Socialism & Liberation (supporter, but I'm right now in a position where I'm flat broke & unemployed, so financially supporting the group is out of the question right now unfortunately, & also I live nowhere near a branch of the PSL. Sucks living in NC just because of that, & there are many Communists that I know that live down here).

We would, but there's no time between us all right now to get one formed up. We're all working our asses off here & some still in college. Trust me, we certainly need a group down here, especially on how anti-union this area is. When things get pulled together here, we'll more than likely try & start one.

Slipoutside is totally right. I was totally unable to support the party for my entire first year of membership, I was totally isolated in my party work and I felt like I wouldn't get anything done. Now, several months later, there are several party supporters and soon-to-be members in Columbus and we're building a huge presence. It starts off slow sometimes, but I really think you should talk to the DC branch about getting some fliers together and just setting up an event, even if it's just a small discussion. Get some issues of the newspaper and get people together. It's amazing what you can do with just a few people. Also, we're a party. We work and manage our finances together, so we can help you build!

I really think you should look into becoming a candidate member and building the party in your area. Even a little party work is better than none, and also, PSL members drive around the country to help smaller branches build. Without the Chicago comrades, I don't know how I would've gotten started. Hell, maybe I can make it over there sometime, but definitely get in contact.

How works the system of applying to your party? You mentioned a candidacy period earlier, isn't it just that you contact them, fill in a form and that's it then?
The UJCE (union de juventudes comunistas de espaƱa, union of communists youths of spin) has a similar way. You're a pre-militant 3 months, or so, and then the asembly decides if you're fit or not to get in. Mostly you get in the youth, except if you're nuts.

It's a misstake,RCWP joined the Front,it is a leader of the Front, but it didn't dissolved itself - the Labor Front is not a party, but a political movement wich incorporates not only political parties but also some of independent trade unions.

United States- used to be a member of Young socialists (yes attached to the Socialist Workers Party) but grew tired of it and left.

I understood the Green party but why would the WWP endorse her? I remember when I was 14 most everyone here in Atlanta hated McKinney.
Are the Socialist Workers Party still Trotskyist? How can I contact them?

The SWP forsook Trotskyism a while back, which resulted in most of the party members leaving. Any rational observer will point to the fact that the party is a cult around its leader, Jack Barnes. It doesn't really contribute anything to the movement aside from trying to shove issues of their newspaper down people's throats. Their website is www.themilitant.com.
