The Situation in Nepal

    Die Neue Zeit
I haven't commented much on Nepalese politics, and because of theoretical reasons I did not wish to post my musings in the Politics thread.

Long story short: the CPN(M) under the so-called "Marxism-Leninism-Maoism Prachanda Path" helped topple the absolute monarchy with its "people's war." Prachanda then headed a coalition government, which then banned strikes in certain public sectors. Certain tendencies wanted to split because Prachanda didn't enact certain reforms (most notably land reform) fast enough. He then resigned because the coalition partners refused to sack some general.

Because I don't see Nepal as being a sort of trigger point for workers' revolution in south Asia, I don't know what to say about the ban on strikes, the slow implementation of reforms, and even Prachanda entering into a coalition, to say nothing about a lack of CPN(M) knowledge of the Paris Commune.
