Hello my Texan comrades I believe we should all introduce ourselfs to each other to better understand, other then the obvious, each other. I am Polish Soviet a 14 year old male Marxist-Leninist-Maoist i live in the city of Bedford and its hell here. I'm in central Texas btw.
I'm in South Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley. Thankfully, this is one of the areas of Texas that is most progressive. It is also one of the poorest areas in the entire nation. That it is also predominantly populated by Mexicans and Mexican-Americans is, I'm sure, a coincidence... Luckily, there are quite a few leftist groups here. A lot of them are just liberal activism groups, yes, but there are a few radical anti-capitalist groups as well, such as MEChA and the World Peace Alliance, a semi-anarchist/communist group which I worked with a few times, though I've been inactive for a while in order to focus on my studies. I'm also not a legal resident, so I am forced to skimp out on certain activities in case the pigs get to me and deport me, effectively screwing up my chances at finishing school. It sucks. Some day, though...
Well, I don't know if I'd call Bedford Central Texas. It's central in the DFW metroplex, that's for sure, buty hey whatever floats your boat. I am a 20 year old guy living in Dallas, but actually Carrollton according to the map. I would say that the city of Dallas is pretty progressive, and a hell of a lot more so than I thought when I moved here. Though not very compared to other parts of the country, but compared to the rest of the south.... That sucks GPDP. Don't know what kind of advice I could give though...one of those things. Hopefully they'll move forward with "amnesty" so that people who are in positions like yours will be able to move on with life. In Carrollton they just elected a guy as mayor who modeled his platform on the infamous anti-Mexican Farmers Branch mayor, in the neigboring suburb. Thankfully, he's pretty much dropped it. Not least of all because the Farmers Branch economy has been completely destroyed by that dumbasses inhuman crusade.
I am from corpus christi, currently affiliated with the IWW, but with no possibility for radical action. I tend to be very suspicious of other groups as I've been let down one too many times by latte-sipping liberal "revolutionaries".
I'am from East Texas around the Nacagdoches area. We're pretty much facing a dilema here with all the layoffs that are occurring in this area. Temple and Lufkin Ind. have layedoff thousands of people here and most people here are turning to hate with open advertisement of KKK posted around town.
Oh yeah I consider myself a marxist and I'am currently trying to find a group to join, but haven't found anything here yet.
Party of Socialism and Liberation is in San antonio in the Texan area but I'm not certain.
For real, I heard their nearest branch was in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I'am seriously thinking of joining them or maybe the SPUSA, only because their a multi-tendency party
Their both good choices the SPUSA and the PSL. But if you want muti-tendency then join the SPUSA.
Hello, fellow socialist here in North Texas, unfortunately swimming in a sea of ignorance and indifference (AKA quite a conservative area, probably because the mass of people here are just uneducated). It is really nice to find some like-minded people in one of the most traditionally right-wing state. Constantly fighting what I call the three American G's : Guns, Gas, and God.
from the small rural town of Caldwell here. once i find a full time job i'll pay my SPUSA dues. working hard on combating false consciousness. we got to work to educate or relatives, friends and neighbors about the corporatist system and how to dismantle it.
Saludos desde San Juan, TejAztlan. SP USA, People for Peace and Justice, etc.
Currently live in Dallas. Consider myself anarcho-socialist. I love Dallas, and most of the people in it.
Watauga, tx. che-marxist-leninist. i agree with Schmuha, it is nice to see people like us in a place like this. i thought i was the only 1. likewise looking for a group.
I just move to Port Arthur, Texas. This place is pretty much better than Southwest Florida I used to live.
Hi. I'm 19 and am from north central Texas, sort of by Fort Worth. I think I'm something of an anarcho-communist.
I'm from San Antonio. I'm a Marxist - Leninist, havn't found a group thats good for me yet.
I am 18 and live in Aledo, a small town near Fort Worth. I consider myself an anarchist but also am pretty much a marxist.
29 here, living in the countryside south of Fort Worth. Not a member of any groups but a longtime supporter and attendee of 1919hemhill.org. I would say I'm an anarchist.
