So, sorry for the mundane question, but does anyone here knows about any good trotskyst band? So far all the good revolutionary bands i have heard are anarchists ones

Well John Lennon had Trotskyist leanings and donated to the Militant tendency and one of the members of Asian Dub Foundation used to be a member. However I know this doesn't constitute "trotskyist bands"

And Citizen Fish who I find awfull at one point had a member who called himself Trotsky.

But im sure theres some minor bands connected to the movement in one way or another. Especially in Spain and Latin America I could imagine.

I'm trying to think about what a Trotskyist band would sound like i've certainly never been musically inspired by Trotsky, but have been in several bands over the years.

Would a Trotskyist band have to believe in

The Bass Guitar as a degenerated Double Bass?
The Importance of Permanent Guitar solo's?
    Transitional Lyrics?
The Nationalisation of the top 150 Rhythms?

There was an SWP band once called The Redskins (in the 80s) soul-funksters you can find them on YouTube w.youtube.com/watch?v=aIOwQPzhz8A&feature=related

The Redskins were a really great band, pity that they only released one Album. It was named "Neither Washington nor Moscow".

In Germany, there is a Hip Hop Artist named "Holger Burner", member of the german CWI Section "Sozialistische Alternative", which performs Rap with revolutionary socialist lyrics. Really good, but only in german language.

There is a Ska band that came out with a concept album called "Permanent Revolution" that was about Trotsky's life. I believe it was the Catch 22s but I could be wrong.

I don't think they are actually trotskyists though it was more that they wanted to do a theme album, and one of the band members had read some about Trotsky's life. Some of the song's are pretty good although overall a bit too much standard american ska-pop-punk for my taste.

I'm actually not a fan of ska at all. I just heard about the album.
