Absence Has It's Presence - A Poem

Without light there is no darkness
Without darkness there is no light
On every face under the sun
The shading puts emphasis on what shows bright

The only thing that won't change
Is the inevitability of change to come
Back and forth to the occasional mix
Moon, sun, moon, sun, eclipse, moon, sun

There is no final ending stage
No one right answer, no last page
Evidence builds through each passing phase
As power rises and falls for different people and places

Without the bad there'd be no motivation for good
Removing the fine unpleasant details will fade the big picture to nothing
Which is something in itself, as absence has it's presence
And villain and Victim trade places in their being

    As worldly impurity becomes self-evident
So comes the manifestation of multiple moral truths
They are equal in validity even though they contradict
Perception and factors shape each person's point of view

Nothing's all truth, nothing's all lies
It's all a matter of what set of eyes
Consistency is built, a synthetic illusion
Inferiority and superiority creates a purist delusion

    ----------------------------------------------

It's kind of a work in progress. I guess this is my telling my former self (the person I was before I changed) off for my non-realistic belief I had that I was on the moral higher ground. I am happy to have saved myself from the futile attempt at being pure (as there is no such thing).

Thank you. By the way, that Orwell quote in your signature, I've seen it before.
