You think so? Also, Stalin killed way too many of his best people. He killed Generals and Officers before WW2 (and was scared shitless when the Germans invaded Russia) and even killed scientists and professors. And as for Kruschev. He did water down the cruelty from the Stalin era, while at the same time dropping international communism and beggining the transition to liberalism.
On some social issues he was better than Stalin but he set the CCCP on the path to revisionism and ultimately fucked it over.
