I'm glad
2 minutos are realy good I like them.
i'll definately listen if there are any new bands i dont know them, i think the scene is really still going only on mainland europe where oi is still more new
yeah I thought so. apparently Spain has a good scene. are there any good new bands though? Of those bands I linked you to Dos Minutos is one you have to lsiten to. A lot of people recognize them as one of the best in the world and the first who fused Oi with punk rock and street punk. A band from a working class neighbourhood in Bs As who still have a mass appeal to working class youth. They're interesting because if you listen to the other Oi bands at the time they were all trying to be British, but just sounding like imitations. 2 Minutos are more authentic, they don't sound like a cover bandbut they keep the spirit.
Its pretty quiet really, the only real centres would be the Rebellion festival, held in London and Blackpool every year, the big bands play there, side from that its not that big and its mainly for the older types, theres no real young scene.
There are some good bands from Argentina, Tango14: http://www.myspace.com/tangocatorce Estado de Koma who play to support workers struggles (don't have a myspace though), Que Risa!: http://www.elsonar.com.ar/querisaoi Acidos Populares: http://www.myspace.com/acidospopulares You might have heard of 2 minutos which is the most famous band, I posted a video of them once in the msuic thread with translated lyrics but I don't think there were any takers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BrnlgS3m7k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJHWOEv_pmU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5gE-1yCTBI I'm not an expert, tbh regarding Britain I only know the old classic bands. What is the Oi scene like today?
i've listened to a bit of spanish stuff, what bands do you like? i'd be interested in listening to them!
do you listen to anything in spanish? I can pass you some good bands but only if you would be interested.
