I think a fair number of Tibetans want to remain part of China, protests are always fairly small-scale, there are probably more Liberal westerners that support the Tibetan Independence movement than actual Tibetans. To be honest I'm not absolutely sure of the statistics, if the majority want Independence then I support that, but at the moment I see China as being more progressive than Tibet was.
