Conversation Between GiantMonkeyMan and Cliff Paul

I'm mainly asking because I've read stuff around the Russian Revolution and I don't particularly want to retread over familiar ground if the writing is staid and dull or whatever lol.
  2. Cliff Paul
I personally find it a pretty entertaining read but I can see how some might find it a dry read - it's around 1400 pages in total I think, which is a fair amount for a piece that covers only six years of history. But Carr is a great writer and he's able to include inane amounts of detail in his writing while still maintaining a pretty high level of readability.

You've mentioned you were reading EH Carr's work on the Russian Revolution recently. In terms of writing, is it any good? Like, I know it's supposed to be one of the best researched pieces on the events but is it dry and detailed or is it an entertaining read?
