Conversation Between Rusty Shackleford and Questionable

Looks like that is the ISO's conference. Which, the PSL wont be participating in.
  2. Questionable
Will the PSL have a presence at this year's Socialism Conference? I noticed they have a branch open in Chicago where it's taking place.
  3. Rusty Shackleford
Well, other than being a left organization in the US, with 'roots' in marxism and leninism, were really not much in common with the ISO.
  4. Questionable
That actually sounds pretty interesting...I'm not going to demand everyone read Hoxha, but I would like to be with people who are going to have a little more in common with me ideologically than say the ISO. thanks for the link, I'll read up.

Fundamentally the PSL is Marxist-Leninist though not stuck in the Soviet Union, or Albania or whatever. The variations of ML vary from branch to branch, from Maoism, to non-'ML' trotskyism. The differences arent really pronounced though, its just that some people like trotsky a little more than mao or maybe they really like Svertlov or something. Like i said though, its not really pronounced, or relevant.

The orientation to Marxism-Leninism is in the way we work on conducting ourselves. Though its not really seperate from out political stance on issues.

If you really are interested, id suggest looking at the website www.pslweb.org and maybe contacting a near by branch.

What is your party like? I'm looking for a good socialist party to affiliate myself with but it seems that every party I encounter is either Maoist or Trotskyist.
