Well, doctors put far more time, education, etc into their profession, so of course, they should be compensated more. However, socialists realize that both of their work is useful to society, and neither of them should be left out on the street.

I share the same position,I definitely advocate the abolition of the wage system in a post-scarcity world but until then I believe a monetary or credit system is necessary.I think this needs to be discussed by the left because I've discovered many naive, idealistic utopians on this board whether they claim to anarchists or communists, and that way of thinking frustrates me. I honestly would have a problem,in a society of scarcity, if someone who didn't work as hard or much as me received the same as I did. Some even think that a doctor and a janitor should be paid the same, which I acknowledge the difficulty of janitorial work but that can be divided among every one or automated, however not every one can be a doctor. What's your viewpoint on this?

Well, I take the position of Marx, who somewhat unenthusiastically supported labor vouchers to be used in the lower stage of communism, but everyone to have free-access of goods and services in the higher stage of communism.

With regards to an immediate gift economy, I think that it is essential to remember what they are really about. It is not about exchange of goods per se, but about fostering/strengthening social relationships. I think some kind of system should function (according to custom of a specific community) to some degree in order to avoid free-riding. Of course it would have to be mixed with some sort of accounting/inventory/logistics system so that its can be scaled.

Comrade what's your position on a stage of collectivism/labor time vouchers as a super abundance is being produced vs immediate gift economy?
