There was this thread in OI: http://www.revleft.com/vb/political-...15/index2.html where I made the following contribution: http://www.revleft.com/vb/showpost.p...9&postcount=24
Interesting. I remain sceptical but it would be cool to see a discussion about it (sure, there must have been one already, but a fresh one). Perhaps you would like to start one? I might wait a bit until I comment, to see some different views first. But yeah it'd be interesting.
I should say, i'm not opposed to 'no platform', but I don't really buy the whole idea that you have to be either extreme 'pro-platform' or absolutist 'no-platform'. Like on this board and in some meetings and definitely on the streets we need to actively work to take the platform away from the fash, and I guess in places like Greece this becomes even more urgent, but sometimes in some situations giving idiot fascists a platform is a good idea; like when Nick Griffin of the British National Party here went on Question Time on TV, loads of people complained in line with 'no platform', but his actual performance was a total disaster and since then the BNP have almost totally disappeared from mainstream focus.
I think the Politburo would be a more appropriate description. Thanks!
Congrats broskii, think you merit your new position. Looks like i've a big fat friend on the central committee now
