Conversation Between Vladimir Innit Lenin and Le Socialiste

  1. Sorry I never got back to you, I actually did send you a lengthly reply via visitor message, but it was when the board was down and it just got lost/deleted!

Yeah, being left-com/libertarian socialist is kind of frustrating, as I said earlier I don't really know where to go activism wise, i'm quite unlucky in that the uni I go to is a haven of apathy and 'moderate' politics, the only left-wing campaign at the moment is the SWPs Right To Work (which I left last year for obvious reasons1) and even that has pretty much no visible presence.

It's like, you're just caught between Leninist sects and Black Bloc groups, meh.

  3. Le Socialiste
It's too bad there's not really a sizable left-com presence in the movement - why is that? I'm not really up to date with the history of left-coms. As for the polarization of the rev. left, it's nice to have others who can bring a little much-needed sanity to the movement. It's obvious there's more to it than just Leninists and Anarchists; the problem is we're just the loudest (especially on here ).
  4. Le Socialiste
DNZ never fails to amuse me (gotta admire his/her persistence, though).

If you're interested, I could send a couple of links your way about self-management (that is, if you're willing to read long articles). If not, I'd suggest getting your hands on books that go in-depth about structures and management styles under anarchist theory and practice. As I'm sure you know, there's a ton of literature on the subject. Goldman's pretty good, too.

I get frustrated with the black bloc on a fairly regular basis. Their tactics don't strike me as especially in tune with anarchist theory, much less practice. But who am I to really say? They serve a necessary purpose, and they often provide some much-needed militancy (it's when things get out of hand that frustrates me).
  5. I dunno though, i've not really ever read any Bakunin/Kropotkin in any great length, i've only read a bit of Emma Goldman and that was more on feminist issues (marriage, sex etc.) than anything more traditionally politico-ideological (DNZism for you there!).

I sometimes think I am anarchic but to tell you the truth I can't stand some of the black bloc tactics used at demos.

I just feel caught in the middle, man

And there's obviously no real culture of genuine left-com organisations, ICC/ICT aside. You're either a Leninist or an Anarchist, it seems. :/
  6. Le Socialiste
    Every day man, every day.

And hey, I'll take your sympathies over outright hostility any day!
  7. Do you ever feel - in conversations with stalinists - like you're banging your already concussed head against a really hard fucking wall?

I wish I could find Anarchism an appealing philosophy to support rather than sympathise. What's a left-com to do?
