Like I can't believe I ever took Stalinism seriously - everything boiled down to 'if you criticise Stalin you are a liberal revisionist'. Which isn't an actual argument at all.
Oh yeah, a communist of some kind. But you know how sectarians can be. I do think a lot of situationism can be corrupted into something po-mo, although I think with their writings on the nature of the spectacle its more a critique of postmodernity, than being actually postmodernist in ideology. i do care enough, but i have no idea what role this eventual new activism will play. I went to Socialist Alternative's Marxism Conference in Melbourne a few weeks ago and I got another nasty glimpse of the type of insular and self-appraising 'revolutionary' politics I don't want to involve myself in. Right now i'm mostly just tiddling away in the academic ivory tower.
Wow, you really have done a three sixty. Can't say I'm not pleased I'm not sure if you could really describe situationism or "po-mo" as a tendency really. Wouldn't you consider yourself a communist or some kind? Yeah, burn out is a problem, but you'll get back into things eventually, if you care enough
I can't provide a simple, short and straightforward answer at all sorry i'm having an ideological identity crisis, i don't really have a 'tendency' right now. but leftwing theorists i've read who i thought were really awesome recently include people like Guy Debord, Alain Badiou, Gilles Deleuze, David Harvey, etc. so i guess haters might call me some kind of armchair situationist po-mo but i don't wanna be armchair, so its confusing yet at the same time part of my problem with activism right now is that I got pretty burnt by both the Workers Party and this student activist movement I got involved in, so i'm really disillusioned.
What kinda politics you have now then?

i don't think we ever actively hated on each other but when i was a naive 18 year old back in 2009 i got caught up with those psychos who were harassing CoR in the wake of the Commie Club being closed that might be what you're thinking of
