Conversation Between fa2991 and Weezer

So I've heard. It seems like sort of a shame, though I can understand why Disney wouldn't want kids exposed to the racial views of the era it was made in.
  2. Weezer
Well, there is no American print. The movie is pretty rare.
  3. fa2991
$100? Must be some movie. I'll have to watch the rest of it sometime soon.

Well, the only reactionary thing is how stereotypical Uncle Remus is and how content he is with slavery and servitude. I always thought they could make a great, inoffensive new version if they rename Uncle Remus and make him, like, a grandfather in modern times living in a retirement home who watches his grandkids for a day and bonds with them (instead of his master's son ) by telling them the Brer Rabbit stories. There are unlimited possibilities.

Heh, my brother actually bought the movie on LaserDisc for $100.

I love Song of the South, despite how reactionary it apparently is.

It is Brer Rabbit, but no, I haven't seen SOTS, or at least not all of it. I watched the first 35 minutes on YouTube one night but my internet died in the middle.

I just find the stories - and character - very amusing, and well drawn.
  6. Weezer
    I know rite?

Is that a Brer Rabbit avatar? Have you seen Song of the South?

Just so you know, your panda avatar is AWESOME.
