Definitely a good start. Plus if you table and pass out fliers a bit you will get a lot of members I'm sure.

Never too late to start one. It might be easier for you than it is for my chapter. We only have like 4 active members this year.
That sounds like the kind of thing I joined the PSL for. I looked into SDS as well but there are no branches near me and I'm only going to be in school for two more years so I don't think I'll be starting a chapter.
We do anti-war protests, protests for education rights, and protests for labor rights. Mainly a lot of protesting. This year we have put a lot of focus on the subpoena of anti-war activists. Last year my chapter helped the bus drivers on campus get their first union contract, but I wasn't around for that.

Yeah, I'm in SDS down at the University of Alabama. I think there might be a chapter started at UAB too, but I'm not sure.
