I'm in a shelter (for ages 18-24), which kinda sucks but is giving me more access to social services than I would have had otherwise. Currently I have a guaranteed bed for a couple months, after which time I will hopefully have a job and have advanced to the top of the wait list for some kind of transitional housing or something. Before I had my official bed at the shelter, I went for an emergency bed every night and was lucky enough to always get one and never had to sleep on the streets.
Oh shit, yeah I was going to say, hit up theredson if you need help finding places. You're at least couch surfing yeah? I was out there and saw him maybe 2 months ago. Good news though that things are better for ya. The Bay is a great place.
Things are a lot different than before, some good ways and some bad ways. I just moved to San Francisco last month. I really like it here and it's great to be out of Pennsylvania and away from my parents. But I'm currently homeless. I've been living in a shelter since I got here, which is pretty stressful, and now that I'm out of the bad situation I was in before, I'm finally having to face issues I was never able to deal with before. Politically I still haven't done too much, but at least I've now met other leftists and have them as IRL friends. Most notably praxis1966 (who sort of accidentally gave me the idea to contact you when he started ranting about how much he hates PSL when he and I were hanging out on Monday) and theredson (who I hang out with about once a week.) All things considered, I think I'm better off now than I was before. And if not, I know i have the opportunity to be better soon.
Hey dude! I've been, lost my job and all that but there some some definite silver lining in all that. 2 years of warehouse work can destroy you... heh. As for the politics, definitely took a step back from Revleft but yeah... still active in reality. How about you? It has indeed been a while.
