Hey you seem to be the resident Kautsky expert on Revleft. So I was wondering if you knew anything about Forerunners to Modern Socialism, which is supposed to be Kautsky's magnum opus with selections from Lafrargue and Bernstein. It was never translated into English, and I can't even find a decent German version online. Large sections are available as separate books at MIA, mainly the sections on various Christian communist heresies around the Reformation period. But I was curious on how Kautsky covered socialism in the ancient world, particularly the ancient greek philosophers. I think I read somewhere that he was rather critical of Plato's Republic, which he saw as the communism of the slave-owning aristocrat. Anyway if you could just give me a brief overview of the other topics covered in Forerunners other than the Protestant reformation, and maybe Kautsky's position on the various movements, I'd really appreciate it.
