There's a million things that could be said about it. It's endless, drudgery and hard work. The payoffs are almost never in "victories", almost always in the changes in people who through the effort come to see beyond the hegemonic narrative. It's probably best to ask if you have some specific question, or if there's some aspect of it you'd like me to address. (It is, of course, useful to read Alinsky.)
