I think mao was a nice guy, I agree with a lot of what he has proposed, but the maoists here have a class-collaborationist-in-name-of-the-party agenda so I dont know about it in practice. They breed a lot of opportunism. But generally, positive.

I wasnt talking specifically about communism, but whatever political orientation you have and in whichever country you are. Us humans are a nasty bunch... And government would be the least of your concerns. Im talking about influential people within society messing with you for the heck of it. :P
Well true if i revale I'm a Communist to everyone the Goverment wouldnt like that and who knows what they would do. But it doesnt mean I can just tell the truth about Communism and Socialism. You have to think before you act in every country mainly in the Anti-Socialist countries.
That sort of mentality is not the fruit of reaction towards extreme oppression, not to me the least, but an expression of realism. Wherever you are, regardless of how tolerant they claim they are, people will persecute you socially for what you believe. You will face obstacles you wouldnt have to if you had a different opinion, or even you will be publically beaten just for the sake of it. Keep politics out of your personal life and you will get far. At least, to better places than you would if you brought it up at every opportunity. That does not means you shouldnt be politically active. Not at all. But rather rational about it.
Ah. no wonder for we all know Czarist Russia wasnt never kind to different politics.
