There’s a new contender for the least popular figure on the far right: former BNP member, NF member and C18 wannabe Tony White.
After several years during which it has been very difficult to get hold off it, the entire book ‘White Lies’ detailing Tony White’s ‘interesting’ career in far right politics has been posted up online on it’s own website, plus a blog full of stories about his exploits over the years.

‘White Lies’, and when writing about someone with the surname ‘White’ that sort of pun is irresistable, was written by members of Leeds BNP in the mid-1990’s after they became suspicious of his fascist credentials, in particular they were concerned by his apparently persistent habit of passing or selling information about them onto the police and Leeds Anti-Fascist Action.

The book itself is written with the usual dose of hysteria, exaggeration, slander and crude insults common when BNP members try and write anything except their names but there have been rumours hanging around that White is a police informer for years.

This charming email has also been distributed about Tony:
WARNING - FORMER BNP INFILTRATOR REAPPEARS!
As exposed in the 1995 BNP booklet ‘WHITE LIES’, Tony White has re-emerged, this time in an attempt to split the National Front and smear the BNP by association.

Check out http://www.tonywhitelies.org.uk/

Please distribute this warning to all patriots!

You get the feeling he’s rubbed some people up the wrong way.
So why is all this happening now?

Well it’s not because someone’s got all nostalgiac for the 1990’s, it’s because Tony White is once again at the centre of an unusual series of events, this time involving the National Front.

At the start of this year former Yorkshire NF organiser White was kicked out and proscribed in a members bulletin for ‘formenting trouble’.
He then responded by splitting the Yorkshire and East London branches from the main organisation in some sort of attempt to gain control of the entire group. The fact that the NF is now in disarray can be seen by the failure of what’s left of the party to put any sort of official statement on the loss of two of their largest branches.

In what is probably pure coincidence that this occured so soon after the National Front scored their only credible result in a by-election in recent years (http://www.hullcc.gov.uk/portal/page?_pageid=221,585589&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL) in Hull getting a couple of hundred votes and beating the Tories.
The ins and outs of what happened are pretty dull, for the determined fash-spotter there’s a long thread on Stormfront and lots of tedious detail on the new Yorkshire NF blogspot site, but the consequences of it could be interesting.

Given the tiny size of the National Front these days the events instigated by White could happily, and hopefully, lead to the final demise of one of Britain’s most high profile fascist organisations. Whatever the outcome they’ve certainly come a long way from leading marches of thousands down the streets of London on Rememberance Day.

Admittedly this is hardly stuff that impacts the lives of a lot of people. When I was glancing over the blog of the ‘new’ National Front yesterdat the hit counter was only on, ironically enough, 88 and it’s been a week since the ‘unilateral declaration of independence’.

The only real significance, beyond the gloating of anti-fascists like myself, is that there is only room for one fascist party in this country, the British National Party. Since the organised fascist groups outside this couldn’t organise a piss-up in a brewery without falling out they aren’t even worth of our attention.

good post, and you have summed it up nicely about all the small satellite parties they really are in total disarray and are not worth too much time on.

The national front are tiny, but the last cenotaph march they did before Tony White split them up [he he] got about 200 assorted nutcases into London with Union Jacks.

Not up to the old days but I was disturbbed to see no-body opposing them.

If you doubt just look it up on Youtube.

Dont think it will be a problem in future. They seem to be in complete shite and their main organiser Tess "someone or other" just went back to the BNP.

So the threat is the BNP, the rest might get so desperate they try to set off a bomb or something but I doubt they could find someone to build one.

Yeah Im just alittle dissapointed that the anti-fascist forces in London let them do it.

Is it just because they dont matter or is there another reason? I mean anti-fascists completely humiliated the BPP in Leeds and they matter even less than the NF.

I dont think any of the concerns about giving publicity to "reformed" right-populist groups like the BNP exist when it comes to the NF.

Just IMHO, not trying to step on anyones toes because after all, I am not there, but I think the NF march would be a great focus for anti-fascist activism, a good event to organise some support around.

Just my two cents from afar and should be taken as such, not as an attack on anyone.

I fully agree with you, something should have been done...
But water under the bridge, perhaps they were complications I don't know enought to comment to be honest
