Belgium, yesterday a small group of people went the the closed asylum center 127bis in Nossegem, they chanted 'liberty, solidarity' and shot fireworks to support the asylum seekers who are on a hunger strike there.
When they returned, a group of policemen stopped them and asked for their ID's, this was collectively refused and the group walked further to the train station. But more cops arrived and tried to arrest people, there was some pulling and pushing, ultimately, a huge cop threw threw a girl over his shoulder, on the pavement. She had to be taken to the the hospital with 2 broken vertebrae. The rest of the protesters were arrested.

Is it just me or does it seem like police are getting worse and worse lately...?

Happens everywhere. In many countries you can count on being beaten up by police if for instance refuse to show ID.
